My Photos Project - Evaluation

Guide to my photos.

The main subject in my photo was the hovercraft in the water. I think that the boat stands out on the water as there are bright colors on it. The water and sky are simular colors which make it blend quite well. The boat stands out on the water and makes it clear as to what the main subject is. The main subject has been focused on properly making the image clear and detailed. The water which is being sprayed from the back of the boat is slightly blurred and misted which gives you the idea that it is travelling at some high speed. I like this picture because it has a clear showing of the whole boat and it fits well in the center of the photo. I have never taken pictures of moving objects before so this was a bit of a challenge for me to get a photo where it is directly in the center and I havent cut any of the boat out. I think I did pretty well with achieving this. I think that the textures in this photo work quite well. You have the rough textures on the water and the mist of water behind the boat and the softer textures on the lines of the boat and the sky. You can clearly see the main subject as it is standing out on the background and it makes you look straight at the boat. I think I could have improved this photo if i have been at a different angle and the bot was coming towards me.
I asked Jordan for her opinion on my photo with what could be improved and she said, ''I like your picture because you have made it obvious what you were trying to focus the attention on and you have shown that you can time the photo properly. It could possibly be improved by zooming in a little and getting the boat to fit perfectly in the center.'' I am happy with this feedback and also agree that zooming in would possibly make it look a lot tidier and nicer to look at.

I think my photo was a good attempt at photographing a moving object and that for a first attempt it has turned out pretty well. I think that mine and the photographers photo are fairly simular. we have both photographed from the side of the boat and made sure that we made the subject in the center of the image. I think that by taking it from this side it has shown the whole of the boat and all of the different colors. I think a close up would look nice of this boat.

My Photos Project - Evaluation

Guide to my photos.

The main subject in my photo is the view on the coastline which has very clear detail and the colors are vibrant. I took this photo because I thought that the lighting looked nice on the waves and the sand wand sky both looked pretty and stood out against each other. I felt that the picture would look really nice and would capture peoples attention. This is one of my favorite photos I have taken and I know a few others like it too. The photo shows nice lines and textures on the sand and clouds which make this photo nicer to look at. I feel that the image as a whole is nice and it shows clear detain, colors and lines. The picture works because none of the colors clash but they compliment each other. The textures in this photo are soft but also are rough in other parts. I feel I could have improved this photo if I had an object to focus on.
I asked Zoe what she thought of this photo and she said, ''I like the clouds and the fence in the corner and I like the sand has two shades and the sea has white froth from the waves. I also like the land in the background as i think it has a natured theme. It could be improved by taking it on a lighter day as the picture is quite dull.'' I am happy with the feedback I have been given as I can now try to take a simular picture with this advice in mind.
I feel that this was a good photo and it isn't much different to professional photos. Both mine and the professional photo have taken the picture from an angle which shows a lot of the beach and the sea. The professional photo is a lot brighter than my image. I feel that my photo captures everything I wanted it to.

My Photos Project - Evaluation

Guide to my photos.

The main subject in my photo is a purple flower which stands out on a blurred green background. I took this picture because I thought the flower looked really bright and it was really vibrant compared to the leaves and vines behind it. I had a feeling it would turn in to a really pretty picture. This photo means something because I like the look or flowers and I think that flowers can make everybody smile. This is one of the first photos I have taken which I am really proud of. The photo focuses the attention to the main subject by having the leaves and vines blurred in the background. The camera had focused on the flower which made it stand out better than the rest of the image. The picture works because the lines have came out really strong and it shows clearly the separation of the background and main subject. The colours in the photo are also good in the element of design as the greens and purples have come out bright and really eye catching. The texture in the photo is mostly soft but the texture on the flower is more sharp. This photo could be improved if there weren't lines of light in the background and it was all just a vibrant picture.
I asked Kim for feedback on my photo and she said, ''the main subject in the photo is nice and vibrant and really stands out but I think the image could be improved by maybe zooming out a little''.
I am happy with this feedback as it has given me notes for when I next take photos.
I feel that my photo is a pretty good photo and isn't that different to professional photos. Both mine and the professional photo have the main subject in the image strongly focused on and the background is blurred. Both images are close ups and they have been taken from an angle. I feel that I have taken a good photo in which captures the true reason for the image.

Manipulating photos

This post shows how I have manipulated a photo to make it look different. I have made the background black and white and then chose a color in the photo to show above the black and white. with the color on top of the black and white it has made the flower look more vibrant.

The rule of thirds.

This is an image taken where the main focus of the image is in the center. It is easy to see what you are meant t focus on but it doesn't look very tidy and it makes the image seem a bit boring. If the girl was in a third of the photo it would make the image look nicer.

In this photo, the main focus of the photo is to the right hand third of the image. This is showing the rule of thirds. The image is a lot nicer to look at rather than having the focus directly in the center of the screen.

Lesson/Ob 3: Can you make a photo look interesting?

This is my photo which I have chosen to be one of the better taken images. It is focused on one person and there isn't loads of things going on around the main image. The girl in the image is in the center and is not cut off of the sides of the shot. The girl is facing the camera so you can have a clear view of her face.

This is one of my worst photos and there are many things wrong with it. The two girls are cut out of the sides of the shot and there seems to be too much going on. One of the girls faces have been cut off at the top so this is showing bad composition. The other girl is not facing the camera which makes it hard to understand what this photo is trying to show.

This is a better version of the previous shot. Both girls are looking straight at the camera and you can see that they have not been cut out of the shot. They are both in towards the center of the image which shows that the composition and framing of the image is well thought of.

Fascinating Images.

I like this picture because; I find this picture very creative. There are what seems to be many images merged in to one. It is as though many photos from the same day were put in the same image to make the memories show more clearly. I also love how there seems to be so many emotions shown around this image. There are smiles, frowns and what looks like joy. the way that all of the colors are blended well and also the images overlap.

Fascinating Images.

I like this picture because; photos of surroundings are what I find interesting. The fact that this was taken shortly after a tsunami, a natural disaster, is what makes this so unbelievable. Everything in sight is destroyed and all that you are able to see is rubble and something that would truly bring sadness to the people that once lived here. What makes this picture so eye-catching to me is that although everything is destroyed, there is one small building that remains in the center.

Fascinating images.

I like this picture because; it is all in the same colors. The greys, blacks and whites all make the image seem mysterious and slightly gloomy. The camera is facing an almost vertical angle, this just makes you realize how tall this statue really is. I also like how you can only just see a person, a person who seems to have catapulted himself from the top of this humungous statue. Behind the person in the sky you have a slightly lighter shade of grey behind them. This is what makes you notice the person and makes the image seen different to most.

Year 11 Photography Unit

Hello, I am Amy.
I am studying media for my GCSE's. I have previously done two units in media, for unit one we were studying filming. In this unit we were to make a short film using different shots, watch different films and see how they changed with different genres. We also were to see just how different sound and lighting effects were used to make the film better.
For unit two, we were to create and design magazine and CD covers. We had to make our magazine covers look like they were actually being used. We were to make them include headings, sub-headings, images and reports which we had made up. For our CD covers we had to research genres and the way different music artists would use specific pictures and names on their album covers and how their track lists would be set around that.
For the third unit we will be studying photography, meaning we will be looking at how photos are taken and how to capture it correctly. We will not only looking at photos but we will be taking our own.

Enjoy.   c:
